If I were to wager a guess, I think that might be where exhaust from Eataly is to be routed. With all the little cooking stations (much like Mövenpick Marché), there’s gonna be a need for cooktops and serious exhaust fans at the front of the building (which thus far hasn’t had much of that ilk before).
To alter the redevelopment plan approved under Site Specific By-law 193-69 by constructing front and side additions to the first and second floor of the three-storey retail podium that links the 53-storey residential tower and 19-storey office tower.
I cannot image that they'd be venting all of the cooking stations below that overhang: odours would just linger there. Right—that's what it is. Just checked the plans, and there are two new elevators being put in to service Eataly from the parking garage. 12 parking spaces (4 per level) are being lost for the new elevators.Looks like an elevator over-run
