September 30th update. Formwork continues, pretty large crew working today. Retaining wall along the creek is pretty far along, almost looks like they used decorative forming boards to create a brick like texture
October 12th update: Large forming crew working this long weekend Saturday. The building is coming together now as the forming for the 2nd floor has officially begun. Now that a ceiling is in place for the ground floor we can start to get an idea of the size of this project. Pics: view from the South, and view from the North
There was a bit too much dew the other morning to work any field, and I was meeting a friend in the area, was early, and took some shots of the project as well, some from the bike trail / parking lot on the south side……the south side features the brutalized channel of Rambo creek. I always find it surprising how we have let developers, engineers, and policy negate what could be positive features of running water, pools, greenery, wildlife, in favour of box tunnels and concrete channels. (And yes, I am well aware of Rambo’s storied history of flooding before the 1990’s diversion program. The two requirements need not be planned in the same fashion)
