I'm just jumping into this thread and I'm curious if there's been any indication to what will happen with the other bank building that isn't a part of this complex.

Didnt some one say a while ago, that that irish guy that owns it was into selling it for approx. 19 million, ??
Lots of dough to pay for a structure, with little to no space for development expansion

Wouldn't be surprised if the owner is sitting on it, hoping to flip it once some nice retail goes in next door at the base of Massey.

It would seem like things are looking quite neat and tidy at the bottom of the Massey Tower excavation now, but it's still a work in progress on the Massey Hall side of things on Victoria. So, starting with the view from just off Yonge…

It can't be too long before we see the crane here, can it?! I don't see the obvious spot for it yet though…

Massey Tower is a raft slab and once poured and complete I believe will then be the location of the crane. They cannot install the crane on the Hall side until the tower crane is operational on the Tower side given the proximity of both sites. Looking at the Hall side the only remaining material on site is there for access to get to the Tower. Once the crane is up for the Tower its should move pretty quick.

Im assuming the site will be quiet for a few weeks once TIFF gets going.

I believe so but they would all be formed off the raft slab once poured. I am expecting a fair amount of steel will start to be laid and tied now. (Similar to how CASA III is looking right now.)

Sept 3
Tower crane could be going up this week or next if the concrete was pour last week for the tower base, as it is ready for it.

The construction staging area for this project went forward today at TEYCC. Looking at more than 4 years of closure of the east northbound lane on Yonge. Its interesting to note the cost of the staging area as fees were increased back in May. MOD will be paying about 1.25 million for both this closure and the smaller closer on Victoria St.

Stopped by this morning on my wander down Yonge Street. Really interested in the engineering behind this project.

Lovely pictures. I had to make them larger because this type of construction is not something you see everyday. Are they doing it this way because they are at bedrock? @Lenser
