Regarding this development, it's likely that they are trying to squeeze as much as possible onto this site in order to make up for the inflated price they paid for the land. It is for that reason that the developers are looking for a zoning amendment.

Sounds like you are saying that these monsters bought overpriced industrial land in a derelict area of Wellington Place, and now will try to bully the city into getting more density. Thank god you didnt bring up the OMB...yet

The last few days have been used to separate the debris and clean the site up.

Are they tearing down the three-story building at the corner as well? It seems pretty likely, but that building would have been a definite benefit to the neighbourhood if it was cleaned up.

Does this demolition company normally do many demolitions? I noticed that they seem to be lacking some key pieces of equipment - mainly large grapples/claws on their excavators. The high-reach excavator only seems to have a little pry bar type attachment. Watching it, it seemed to take much longer than either Murray or Progreen would have taken.

Overheard patrons at Thor Espresso Bar across the street (it's great -- try it) expressing disappointment upon learning that the Sherwin-Williams building isn't being preserved.
