Foundation waterproofing is well underway and we began placing steel and forming our perimeter walls using a method known as structural shotcrete. Shotcrete is an excellent alternative to a typical formed wall construction where concrete is applied using hoses and compressed air. The high pressure compacts the concrete while the finishing work is completed by hand leaving behind a near perfect surface. Structural shotcrete is faster than typical formwork construction and ideal for below grade work in hard to access areas or where there are impacts such as internal shoring.
Our formwork trade continues to place steel for the remaining raft slab & footings as well as vertical steel for interior columns & walls. The underground drainage trade follows close behind to run piping throughout the underground to complete the permanent drainage & sump system. Once this work is complete, we will backfill and begin pouring our slab on grade. Our Mechanical & Electrical trades have also mobilized to complete their work as steel is placed but before concrete is poured.
