It was a busy-looking site when I passed by last Friday. While only some of them are visible in this photo, I counted 8 shoring rigs plus the one portable crane on site:

If that rendering is depicting the South West corner of Bloor and Bathurst I find it somewhat disturbing. What was and should be a major commercial corner basically looks like a residential black-hole almost designed to have an optimal deadening influence on the street.
 
Announced today: the public art here will be by Frank Stella and will use the original 'Damascus Gate', previously found in David Mirvish Books, as inspiration.

Photos earlier this morning - excavation is progressing quickly now with GFL working 6 days a week. They have reached the first level of tiebacks on the north end of the pit along Bloor St. and continue to make progress south every day.
