Am I the only one who thinks this thing looks dated in a 1990s Palace Pier kinda way? I can see it having some redeeming qualities when it’s lit up at night nut otherwise it’s just a giant “meh” lol

This has to be rage bait... I mean I guess you're entitled to your opinion, if it helps further cement your review, it's not going to be lit up like the renders.

I now have a habit of tuning into the crane operators Instagram daily to check out pictures from the top of the crane it's kind of cool

I always thought Palace tower things where ahead of it's time, especially when one of them was built in 1978...
... I am not sure I feel the same way about this tower. But I am of the opinion that it doesn't look dated. At all. /shrug

Yes.
Because each perfectly epitomizes the architectural trends of the eras in which they were constructed. They're both awesome, but my personal preference is for the earlier of the two. It's an absolutely gorgeous building.

Palace Pier is one of my favourite developments in the city. I don't think it looks dated, though it certainly captures the look of certain time. I love the quality, especially compared to a lot of the value-engineered, spandrel-clad buildings going up today.

I mean look at Palace Pier compared to the rest of the garbage immediately surrounding it, it's a day and night difference.
One Bloor West will certainly be a timeless building, and will always standout. That is always a good thing, especially when we're talking about a sea of mediocrity and banality that is Toronto buildings.
