Don’t count it out yet. This is 100% a Metrolinx line. Also the TTC is looking at getting in on that nonsense.Thankfully this line is not a GO line or Metrolinx would be calling it Markham Exhibition station.

Umm... what? Did Markham get an Exhibition, or did Exhibition get a Markham? I don't understand.Thankfully this line is not a GO line or Metrolinx would be calling it Markham Exhibition station.
Time to bring back the Alpine Way.They don't? Whilst the line is advertised to reach Ontario Place, that's only by a technicality. The terminus at Exhibition is being advertised as an "Exhibition/Ontario Place" Station, with connection to the latter likely being done either by bus, or by some sort of APM in the future.

Metrolinx is known to name stations after places that are nowhere near the station.Umm... what? Did Markham get an Exhibition, or did Exhibition get a Markham? I don't understand.
Thanks. I keep forgetting how long ago this was taken down… was my favourite ride as well, would be cool to see it go from the station to Ontario Place entrance.For our younger members who may be going......'the what?';

Roughly 100ft high, ran from near the Prince's gates to the Dufferin Gate for about 30 years from the late 60s. Its my first favourite 'ride' at the Ex as a kid.
Not long after Transit City was announced, McGuinty fully funded 3 of the lines. It very much happened.And yet it didn't happen.
Which ones? I know Science Centre may end up not being the closest... especially if it moves. Which others?Metrolinx is known to name stations after places that are nowhere near the station.

I've lost a lot of respect for Miller since he started arguing that a downtown subway line isn't necessary. That's the kind of nonsense Rob Ford was saying 10 years ago.
It’s a perfectly fine goal, but the core system needs to be able to absorb all that LRT expansion. Transit City couldn’t work without the OL/DRL in place.I do understand where he's coming from, in that we could build lots of LRTs deep into Scarborough and all over Toronto for this money, and it would serve the most under-privileged far better than these lines. I think many of us live near overcrowded lines and want to see relief, but, if we want to get more people onto transit in the first place, where they are now serviced by buses only, LRTs are the way to go. I also think his views were fine when he was mayor and nobody was funding transit enhancements. But, the last decade, federal and provincial governments have poured tons of money into infrastructure, so, this is the exact time to build these important pieces that will be the backbone of the transit network. We can build the LRTs when money is tighter, and I'm sure that era will be coming soon anyways.
