A No Frills in Toronto’s east end will close on April 20 to make room for the forthcoming Gerrard Station on Metrolinx’s Ontario Line, according to BlogTO.

News of the closure first impacted store owners and customers at the Carlaw and Gerrard No Frills in 2022, and now it has been confirmed. All store employees will reportedly be relocated to nearby Loblaw-owned establishments, ensuring a smooth transition for the dedicated staff.

Loblaw also revealed plans to rebrand the Broadview and Danforth Loblaw’s location into a new No Frills to address the loss of the area’s discount grocery chain.

A transit-orientated community is expected to take root after demolishing the No Frills building.

Aren't they planning on nuking that place for development as well?
