November 25 - South side of King Street. The second level (downwards) of the collars to prevent the side retaining walls from migrating inwards, is being installed - starting with initial delivery of sections early this morning.

im so conflicted with DoFo because transit construction seems to be going at an all time high clip under him but he's terrible with everything else
Excavation is quite straight forward and Toronto has good soil particularly in downtown where you can hit the bedrock quickly. From there downward all you need to do is nailing rockbolts to all sides.
The fallout tends to occur later toward the end of a project when interface and cross-contract issues arise. Right now each contractor is left doing their own thing in their corner. Connect6ix have not entered the picture yet.

The digging for the Eglinton crosstown was fairly smooth too but have we seen any trains in service? "Transit construction" should include opening a functioning line!
 
December 10 - North side of King Street - the Gantry Crane cross-beam has finally arrived. Apparently it will need a couple more weeks to complete its set up before it becomes fully operational. The other change is that the up to now use of independent truckers has been replaced by a fleet of York1 trucks three lined up on this block, and one more to the east of Portland Street.
