...I suspect hotel option is there as an incentive to discourage dodgy owners from Airbnb'ing their units here ICE style.

I doubt any developer cares what happens after the units are sold to end users.

Interesting that the hotel website says "Opening Fall 2025", which I assume would be well ahead of the residential completion.
