It weirdly has a small site to construct a supertall on in comparison to the other two, though. I guess you can't always judge a tower's size by its podium...
Size doesn’t matter in this city atp, if they can sell small 1~2 bdr condos for a ridiculous price, who cares how small the plots are lol
But I agree with you, it’s not like Chicago level winds so it shouldn’t be too big of an issue to build a thinner tower here and there

The size of the condos units don't really have anything to do with thin piece of land the building is set to built on . Also Chicago isn't called "The Windy City" because it's known for wind. It's called "The Windy City " because back in the day local politicians were long winded with their speeches and "full of wind" sort of say.

Ohhh, I genuinely thought the wind was why it was called that. When I go to Chicago it’s always windy (at least by the lake) maybe my brain was tricking me into thinking it’s windier than it actually is lol

Most people think the name has something to do with actual wind so don't feel bad....lol.

So… we had our Supertalls panel at the Buildings Show at the Convention Centre today, and it went rather well, if I do say so myself... Anyway, Jodi Buck and Nadine El-Gazzar put a lot into the Pinnacle One Yonge part of the presentation, with tons of detail that we don't get even in this thread usually, especially concerning all the thought that has gone into the project regarding air handling, which doesn't sound that sexy offhand maybe, but you'd likely be surprised just how many interventions there are for this building that are not typical for 40, 50, 60, even 70 storey buildings, to keep this one from 1) blowing over, and 2) keeping down winds in the 16 elevator shafts and in the various stairways. All sorts of other stuff too.

Anyway, we are hoping to bring the live panel back as one of our webinars in 2025 so that you can all see it from the comfort of your own swingin' pad. We'll let you know when we get that settled early in the new year!

The second floor seems to be taller than the rest of the floors, does anyone know what they're planning to do with the second floor

The second level is both the PATH level and restaurant plus function rooms for the Le Méridrien hotel.
