The beige building next door on Front Street is such an eyesore. Its proportions and architectural details are terrible. With this building, it'll no longer be as prominent in the streetscape as before, which is great.

I agree, but I also have a sneaking fondness for its wedding-cake-like 80s/90s EIFS monstrousness. If that building was a piece of clothing, a Gen Zer would be totally wearing it.

What I've come to realize is the Wallmann red and black building next to it is the real dog's breakfast of the row.

But it's not even from the 90s, which is another reason why 550 Front Street West is so bad. It was built in the early 2000s. Wallman's Reve project at 560 Front Street West is a great looking building, though lacking in retail.
 
I still prefer the precast building and Reve (for all their faults) over the hideous Minto Bathurst monstrosity.
