Not quite like it was in my childhood, but closer, very temporarily.

The rail yard used to be on the north side as well, but had been removed by my earliest memories of Danforth GO. But the south yard was still very much a thing.
 
New minor variance submission. The storey count changed from 39, 38, 30 storey to 29, 39, 37 storey. Height changed from 134.00m, 128.00m & 104.00m to 138.10m, 132.20m, 108.25m. The unit count increased from 897 units to 922 units. Total car parking changed from 256 car parking to 103 car parking.

That is a major cut in parking. It's a pretty transit-friendly spot, but unusual to see such a low number on a development of this size outside the core.

It's going to be like a hotel? What's the meaning of rental products?

Its normal rental apartments.

But unlike those built in the area in the 50s through 70s, these would have central air, and ensuite laundry; thus a different 'class' of rental.

I'm actually amused we got no mention of Lake Views. Truthfully you will get those in south-facing units, and because of the railway corridor and then a public park, it seems improbable that they will be interfered with in the near term either.
