sheway agrdens is not doign as well and lossing alot of tents and is ending up with lots empty space witch hard to fill that why t and t supermarket is opening up in fairview mall its sopsued to be anchor attendent look at promaade mall and all o f malls in alberta and bc thta have a t and t supermarket most malls thier have one of thise stores

There was a fairly large Asian grocer that closed their doors just a few blocks down the road at Alderwood Plaza back around ~2015-2016. So probably it's safe to say that a T&T likely wouldnt perform any better over at Sherway.

Not that I think a Grocer of any kind would be appropriate for Sherway in the first place.

Irrespective T and T is not the right fit for Sherway.

How much expensive fashion retail can you cram into a generic contemporary mall until it becomes numbing and boring? The food court is gone. The expansion didn't really honour the luxurious indoor garden theme of the original.

You can't really enjoy the iconic circus tent roofs anymore since they boxed the public space in with more retail on both sides. Not that T&T would work, but the mall just doesn't feel special anymore. It's still one of the best in the GTA for clothing, but it doesn't have the character it used to.

Let's just say Sherway's clientele wouldn't exactly be too receptive to an Asian grocery store opening within the mall. CF knows this.

Other than the condos beside the mall, there isn't really a residential area that would use Sherway as a local grocery store though, all of those malls you mentioned are close to residential areas. Sherway is surrounded by big box retail, a highway, warehouses/industrial. The areas to the south of the QEW have Farmboy. I'm not surprised Pusateri's didn't do well here, and think the restaurants at Eataly might do well, but the grocery part might struggle.

You do know that the Sherway Gardens neighbourhood is being redeveloped with residential high density that will need grocery stores.

beacuse mall is dying loosing lots of tenants
No, the mall is not dying, and the only reason it would seem like it's "dying" is because Cadillac Fairview butchered all the character that the mall had and left it to be a generic, soul-suckingly bland mall.

It continues to attract very good numbers because of the tenant mix and very convenient location.

There is no large Asian diaspora in that area to support an Asian supermarket Additionally, parking is still a problem at Sherway, particularly on the weekend. Eventually, once all those condos are built, there might be one but there is no sense in spending millions to build a store and operate it when the market simply isn't there and won't be for years to come.

Maybe in 30 years when part of that is built out, but as it stands, the area is not in desperate need of a grocer.
