'Intensification': Huge 29-storey tower proposed for Mississauga neighbourhood set to be opposed by city staff

According to a Dec. 11 planning staff presentation, the city supports “residential intensification” on the development site and found tall buildings are suitable for the neighbourhood, which is adjacent to Hurontario and Dundas streets.

But planning staff also said there are outstanding issues that haven’t been “adequately addressed” including the height of the development’s proposed nine-storey podium and parking garage design.

It appears that City Council voted in favour of a proposed settlement with the developer at a council meeting on April 17, 2024. (The details of the settlement don't seem to be publicly available yet).

The OLT Merit Hearing scheduled for June 17, 2024 has been cancelled and a Settlement Hearing has been scheduled for May 31, 2024.
