^I was wondering if phase 2 is brown aluminiun panels? If so, I think Teeple was inspired by 1)NimbyTect's Brown Cow & 2)

Which btw, is one of my favourite West End apartment buildings, excluding the shape it's in and the awful retail base.

It's pretty much horrific beyond compare.

70's throwback.

I don't mind the brown if it's a metallic bronze or some kind of other rich tone. It could be hideous if it's like the brown painted aluminum trim and siding you see on houses of the 70's and 80's.
The boxy balconies really remind me of those aging apartment buildings in Don Mills or Scarborough which is not a good thing.

I'm honestly speechless re: this design.

I hope sales don't go well and they have to redo the entire thing.

To me the SQ2 design looks like a transition from the older buildings of the area to SQ. As long as the cladding components are of a high-enough quality, it should work.

I can't make up my mind with Sq2. It is the right direction for Tridel. They need to stop pretending with their glass tower design.

So that's SQ in the background…

but on this block of Augusta you can see one home followed by townhomes going south, with more townhomes on Vanauley in the back. It's those ones on Vanauley that are coming down for SQ2, while the towns on Augusta will be replaced by new ones. New towns will also pop up on the south side of the new east-west street going off to the left.

It's funny how the only times Teeple is really mentioned around here lately, it's to describe a "rare miss" for the firm.

Other than Picasso, what are the recently built projects by Teeple that people feel turned out really well with regards to their final execution?

I, too, am frightened by the renderings here, but 60 Richmond is one of my favourite new-ish buildings in the city and I actually quite like how the first phase here is turning out. The Hive is okay, too, and I don't mind how Origami has come together (which I know isn't a super popular opinion around here).

I think their good stuff is quite good; I don't think they deserve to be lumped in with the Kirkor, P+S/IBI, G+Cs of the world.
