Though the piling etc has been occupying the sidewalks for several weeks the official permission was only given by TEYCC on Tuesday. The Staff Report ( https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2018/te/bgrd/backgroundfile-110118.pdf ) gives some timelines:

Construction of the development will be undertaken in several phases. Major construction activities and associated timeline for the development are described below:
• Excavation and shoring: September 2017 to May 2018 (progressing);
• Below grade construction: May 2018 to August 2018;
• Above-grade construction: August 2018 to April 2021.

Awesome pics, a big step in development.

It is interesting thinking that a site is being prepared in this locations for so many people out in the burbs and elsewhere. It's exciting for me since I have set the move in as my retirement date and am watching this with an added level of interest.

This was last Thursday (22nd). Not quite sure why the east side needs drilling while the other 3 had shoring beams.

Drilling on the east side of the construction site at 158 Front Street East is set to begin Thursday, conditions permitting. This work will occur along the east side of Sherbourne Street.

If site conditions do not permit, the work will be rescheduled as necessary. We will update this site when we have more information.
