that rendering is far more accurate, and far less attractive than the original vision
 
^Hmmmmmm.... The rumoured LED stripe is suspiciously dark. (Yes, I realize the render depicts daytime, but the covering for such a feature would not likely be made of black material.)

I don't see how you can possibly see that. The official rendering windows look far similar to what is being built. The above CG rendering simplifies it to all-green, which we know from look at it isn't the case.

I was referring to the renderings that featured Trump at its originally desired heights, along with the black granite base.

Barrytron, check out this scale model of Trump's originally proposed 325 metre tower. The materials being used for construction right now follow this colour scheme to a tee.

I'm thinking the final product may duplicate the same amount of setbacks as the original proposal, albeit at a slightly smaller scale.

Also of note, I just realized that the aforementioned model has granite cladding going all the way up until the first major setback. I've always overlooked this feature until now, but I must say it detracts from the already limited visual appeal of this project. What an ugly east facade Trump Toronto will have.

Can you guys believe this thing is not even halfway up, and yet I still have great difficulty capturing the entire tower in a shot, cause of the height. What happens when it's a full grown skyscraper.... I'll have to take pictures of it from Bathurst, I guess.... oh well

Thanks for the tremendous updates caltrane! :D

Trump looks amazing from Bay/Adelaide due to the new curved sections of glass! People don't like it now but once we have a huge wall of glass going up another 30 stories, it'll be a stunner :D! I can just imagine looking up at all the green glass!

Trump doesn't even look halfway up from Bay/Adelaide mostly due to the Bay Adelaide Centre... and its nearly impossible to capture the whole skyscraper from the corner unless you have a special lens or somethin.

just so awesome!!!! and there's still ALOT more to come!... the glass/lobby at street level, the fins at street level, led feature, more setbacks, lantern, spire, etc...
 
I feel disoriented. I thought FCP was kiddy-corner to Trump... which i now adore.

take that, all you Trump Toronto basher bashers!
 
Trump is looking really good. Too bad the original height did make it through, would have made a bigger impact. but still a nice addition to the CBD!:cool:
