I recall reading years ago that RBC only wanted a "building", nothing "iconic" even though the building was on prime near-waterfront lands. I can understand a business' need to be economical, but this may be a case of penny wise and pound foolish. How do windows fail like that?(!) They remind me of how cheap plastic surfaces of low-end toys/small appliances peel after a short while.

Are the balconies using glass or mesh? As when I passed by it it looked more like some kind of mesh rather then glass.
 
Great shots. Really shows the difference painting the undersides of the balconies makes.
