The front page story we posted last month was incorrect (due to a misjudgment on my part) The excavation is in fact not complete.

More digging at the northeast corner of the site from today:

The site was being dewatered and perimeter shoring continued...this is the final cut prior to foundations and ramp removal...

This site has water issues and behind schedule.

They even have dewater system setup around the first crane tower footing area. The footing should be ready by month end for the first crane to be erected and late June for the 2nd one.

This project is 6 weeks behind schedule to the point that the first crane is now to be erected the week of June 17.

The 2nd crane is schedule for the end of June or the first week in July.

The base of the cranes will be above lower level due to water issues from what I was told.

They were pouring a concrete slab between the 2 crane site when I was there which is odd, considering they still have to dig the footings for the complex yet there.

Photos to follow.

I was told that they dropped the excavation (dug deeper) for the large raft foundations that have been poured. Looking at the work down there its clearly not a typical rebar and concrete foundation. They are using a membrane around the entire excavation before they finally pour the footing. They will not be digging footins where you see concrete poured.

Cell phone shots from today, please excuse the uncharacteristic lack of effort:

There was a huge concrete pour Saturday morning, as I drove by there must of been 20+ cement trucks lined up on Eglinton. Sorry no pics....was driving.
