main level is really starting to come along... will we have an apple store opening this year??
The proper term is "The Yellow Belt"I had a thought that there is a “reverse NIMBYism” happening here, if that is the right made-up term.
Likewise, it shouldn't be denied just because it adds a few minutes of shadow for a few months of the year to a park that is ugly, anyway.
Is it the actual lack of units, or what the units are being used for that's the problem?Well how livable is the city when lack of units keep driving the price up?
Does anyone believe London is not a "world class city"? Other than the Shard (now barely 9 years old), every other building in London was surpassed by First Canadian Place when it was built almost 50 years ago. Howabout Paris? FCP trounces their tallest by almost 60m.Totally agree. Toronto and Torontonians are obsessed with being world class and yet we are mired mediocrity precisely because of stuff like this.

Building height isn't what makes a city great.
London and Paris have over 2000 years of history to fall back on. Toronto doesn't have that.
if you like parks and green space, there's hundreds of kilometers outside the DT core for you to choose from.
Oh, so Toronto needs to overcompensate by building metal phalluses?London and Paris have over 2000 years of history to fall back on. Toronto doesn't have that.
Or at least incinerate any complainers of lack of sunshine.Maybe they can install a mirror on top of the building which can reflect sunlight onto the park.
Not necessarily, but it needs to do something other than history.Oh, so Toronto needs to overcompensate by building metal phalluses?
