Why are we comparing ourselves to Winnipeg?Winnipeg is laughing at you for calling -15C brutally cold.
Sorry but what is your argument here? Are you saying that because the concourse of the Well isn't climate controlled, it's not good? Does that mean our commercial streets are not good? Or what about commercial plazas? Are indoor, climate-controlled malls the only 'good' form of commercial development? Honest question, not really sure where this line of reasoning leads to...Why are we comparing ourselves to Winnipeg?
So because Winnipeg is colder than us, then that means the open design of The Well is good? Okay...
In the past I've stated that the semi-indoor design is the worst of both worlds - it doesn't provide the protection from the elements like an enclosed mall does, and it also doesn't provide the convenience of walking on a main street and quickly popping into a shop.Sorry but what is your argument here? Even compared to prior years, Toronto winters are getting warmer and less snowIt sounds like nobody went to the Well to see how pleasant or unpleasant it is when it's pretty cold and windy. Toronto may not be as cold as Winnipeg, but there aren't that many cities of 7 million people that regularly get colder than Toronto. Maybe just Moscow and Chicago? Also Harbin and St. Petersburg?
But being from Ottawa, it still amuses me that Torontonians are so chicken about -15 temperatures. Our kid's school was supposed to have a family skating night tonight and they canceled it. It's only -14 right now!

Yup laugh it up! Time will tell whether it was a good idea or not...^Then how do you explain Bloor St W?!![]()
This is definitely true. Ottawa as well. When I was a kid, we used to go skating on the canal regularly over the Christmas holidays, and I don't think it's opened before January more than once over the last 20 years.Even compared to prior years, Toronto winters are getting warmer and less snow
Did you make sure to pet the kitty?Taken 22 January at 10am. About the same as you see on surrounding streets. There are Well related videos below.

If we are then it's a good thing the Adidas store is there so I can pick up some larger sweat pants after.
