I'm looking forward to this handsome building rising in the skyline.

I'd agree with you if the original design shown below was still being built. After the usual 'improvements' it doesn't look all that attractive any more. We're getting something bland instead.

The latest SPA docs have curtain wall for the entire tower, plus curved glass at the corners, which should give it a nice King Portland Centre vibe. I think this will look very sleek.

Still curtain wall but the shadow boxes have been VE'd out unfortunately. Will still look fantastic though.
I trust that you're more in the loop than I am on these things, but the SPA submission from July still has the shadow boxes!

I'm looking forward to this thing being finished because it is blocking most of Adelaide Street. 2021 will be great.
 
A shadow box typically has a plate of clear glass fronting it with coloured (usually gray) aluminum panel a few inches behind it. As the sun moves across the sky, you get shadows that slowly change in each box, giving the envelop some depth and texture. It's a subtle but nice effect.
