The second rendering is with the added floors (looks like an extra 10 or 11 floors) and the addition of the decorative fins to the front facade.

Actually, that's the south side (back façade) with the fins/flaps/what-have-you, and it's still 18 floors total, no extras. Sorry!

That makes sense being the dead of winter and this project will be built with direct access to the subway. Good timing marketing wise.
 
Although overall, I love this project, I'm saddened that no attempt is being made to save the original canopy over the front entrance.

It a shame to see it demolished, mostly because of those mint green bricks that are so evocative of the 1960s. I wish glazed bricks would make a comeback.
