Rezoning application for the redevelopment of the lands for the purposes of a new 18 storey residential buiding complete with 120 dwelliing units that incorporates the existing 2.5 storey heritage facade of the building on the premises. Included in the proposal is 37 parking spaces to serve the development and the incorporation of a secondary entrance to serve the Wellesley TTC subway station

pretty sure nobody involved in the design or building of the original building gave a hoot about it, and its probably full of asbestos and degrading plastics. At a time when more than half of the deer park church is being torn apart, even though it's construction is on the level of Hart House, it actually makes sense to talk about 17 Dundonald, because it shows us how perverted the "heritage" system has gotten.

Really, actually, who can say they'd like anyone they care about to live / work in 17 Dundonald every day? the building looks like how Eileen from Monster felt.

Not even close to the renders. Too bad. Those renders looked like they could have led to an exciting building - not that the application version is a write-off. What's odd is that the city application and the renders posted on the website were posted in the same week. Which supersedes which?

OPEN HOUSE
_____________________________________________________________
WHEN: Monday, July 9th 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
WHERE: Marriot Courtyard Hotel – 475 Yonge Street
WHY: Discuss our plans to redevelop 17 Dundonald Street
_____________________________________________________________
DEAR NEIGHBOUR,
We have recently purchased the office building at 17 Dundonald Street.
We plan to redevelop the property to include a second entry to the
Wellesley subway station and upgrade the public walkway from
Dundonald Street.
The new TTC subway entry will be in the base of our building within
the relocated and restored facades of the modernist heritage building on
site today.
We invite you to attend our Open House so we can show you our
proposal, introduce our development team, and informally discuss your
initial thoughts, questions and ideas.
This will be a casual “meet and greet” format with a brief presentation
at 7:15pm.
This is NOT a formal City of Toronto public meeting. Future City
public meetings will be arranged by the City in September. However,
we have invited Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam and City Planning and
we understand they plan to attend.
Light refreshments will be available and we are arranging child-care
services at the hotel.
We hope you can attend and we look forward to seeing you on July 9th.
