Perhaps it has been mentioned regarding the strip of land along the west side adjacent to the water. Will this be a public walk/public promenade/park similar to the lakeside?

Yes, the parking lot to the west was attained through a land swap and will become a public park.

Not really. This tower is mediocre, with minimal effort at taking advantage of the site and create something genuinely different. Monde would eat it for lunch.

Even that's is questionable - as much as I like the mid-rise and the bridge on top, the project felt like a wasted opportunity with poor ground level engagement that took more than it gave back.

Too early to say.
With this one, we're getting the most eye-catching of the development's buildings in terms of skyline presence, and we are getting some ground floor retail. We don't know how much ground floor retail we'll get with the last two phases here yet, nor what their final designs will be. We also don't know what the final design of Queens Quay will be like down here, such as where the LRT will be (popping up to the surface?), how well integrated new granite set walkways will be, and there's no design yet for the park that will run down the west side.
It all may end up mediocre, but there's still enough in play here for there to be some pleasant surprises. The public art between the paired Waterlink buildings, for example, is promising!

they are pouring P1's floor level by the looks of it, so the next level up will be ground.

The footprint of the building is smaller than the underground parking space they created. Does anybody know if they will simply cover the remainder of the underground parking with soil / grass?

while the tower footprint is slim ... the 10s podium is rather fat and wide occupying the majority of the site
