Just so people have a sense of history Union Station was originally completed in 1920. It then stood empty until finally opened in 1927. We have nothing to complain about today.

If you look at the top of the lengthwise beams at the outer edges, you'll see that they are channelized. If I didn't know any better, I'd suggest that they have been designed to act as rain gutters.
