The moat has leaks. I guess for this purpose they figure it wasn't a concern, but the target state would have some retail in the old parking spots on the north side of the west moat and without the work to patch the leaks which is to be combined with the work to install bollards to have a single construction package, the moat is not reaching its potential.
 
I will say at first I was sort of frustrated about the moat being closed for longer, but I went to the opening of the roller skate rink tonight, and it completely changed my mind. What a treat and a creative use of public space!

The fact that everything is free is a huge sell. The city could use many more properly free fun activities.

Three tim Hortons. Two McDonald's/McAfee. A Starbucks. A tea shop in the food alley. Is pilot still around?
 
I noticed on the weekend that the clothing company in The Market area closed, now just being filled by a few chairs and tables
