From the WT CEO Report at the Sept Board Meeting:

Waterfront Innovation Centre (WIC)
Menkes continues to pursue tenants for the WIC in the marketplace, with some exciting leads. Waterfront Toronto, Menkes and City staff are targeting September 30, 2017 to execute final transaction agreements.

Menkes has completed the necessary geotechnical works and can now submit a site plan application to the City.

Everyone please get on their knees and pray this is going to be with a tenant that wants something architecturally adventurous. Fasting, ablutions, self-flagellation, smoking the holy herb, levitation, and/or rosary beads are all also recommended per whatever works for you!

This thing is gonna seem even more awful when there are Google delivery drones flying by its bland, suburban facade.

What are the odds that the Google Canada HQ is going to be here? I know it's supposed to be in Quayside (um, Sidewalk), but they were thinking about working with adjacent sites, and Menkes is about to file the Site Plan Application very soon, meaning they can start construction fairly soon

This isn't adjacent, though, and I doubt Google would spend money on fit-outs just to be closer to their eventual home. Their current space downtown is nice enough to stay in for a while longer.

Yeah, this one wouldn't be Google.

This plus the two office buildings in Bayside could make a first shovel-ready trio of buildings for Amazon to get going on though…
