More glazing up on the north west corner of the podium. It looks good. Not curved though.

Never seen glass like that before. Should be interesting with the entire building covered in that. I think it will look pretty sweet.
Looks like only the podium will be curtainwall. Architectural plans show window wall for the tower.

Too bad. But still, I look forward to seeing the podium fully clad in that glass. Hopefully the tower portion won't come off looking weak in comparison.

The effect of the window wall should be mitigated somewhat by the wraparound balconies on the tower portion as long as the balcony glass looks good.

Also, that podium cladding is fairly reminiscent of (a cheaper version of ) that on Gehry's IAC building in lower Manhattan.

Any chance that the row of buildings (convenience stores) in front here could be taken down? Really wouldn't want another smaller condo obstructing this on the east side

A number of those buildings are designated heritage buildings and are not going anywhere.

I will also add that building tower separation guidelines also mean that it would be difficult to build on these properties.

I don't see a tower there either, but I'd love to see a midrise proposal that builds on the back portions of those properties while retaining the heritage components along Yonge. The heritage buildings don't go back very far, and most of what's facing the lane are later additions. It would be great to see the east side of St Luke's Lane given a more defined built form, to continue the vibe of St. Nicholas a block north.

With the way the area is getting built up it might not be so crazy for someone to think of building a boutique hotel at Yonge/Wellesley. It's not a trendy corner, but it's also not in the middle of nowhere. And if the park is done right it might even attain a bit of a local landmark status.
