I don't see how this Woodbine GO train station will be of much use. It's at the far deserted corner of the large Woodbine race track area, not at the spectator and casino part of it, and otherwise by a large sprawling industrial (and mostly non-pedestrian) area, as can be seen from the satellite view.

Are those small roads inside the Woodbine area open to the general public, or just for internal restricted use by the horse racing people? If they want people to use them for walking to the casino, hotel, etc., they would at the very least have to add sidewalks, and I doubt many would be using them except for maybe when there was some big event happening. Google walking directions oddly show someone would have to go all the way around the western side (50 minutes).

In any case, the already existing TTC and Miway buses on Rexdale Blvd and Hwy 27 get people much closer to there than this proposed GO train station would.
I suppose if the GO station could have stairs going to inlet stops for TTC buses and waiting areas on Hwy 27, it could a little more useful than it would appear. But there's no sidewalks there now.
There is a huge development coming to the Woodbine grounds : https://woodbinecommunityplan.com/ So this would be futureproofing for that.

This would also be a lovely location to add an interchange station stop on a future Finch West LRT extension, which could then continue through towards the airport.

And isn't this station meant to replace the Etobicoke North GO eventually?

I think Line 6 needs to interchange here as does UPX. And then Line 6 would only need to go one more stop to the racetrack itself. Sure, it could eventually go to YYZ, but with a UPX stop here, why is it that necessary?

The internal roads in Woodbine do allow public traffic, but they are VERY pedestrian hostile as currently constructed.

I seem to recall somewhere that the track/switches and signalling make it next to impossible for UPX trains to stop at Woodbine and be able to get over to Airway junction.
Greater experts than I can confirm or dispute this recollection.

There should be room so long as they build it on the east end of the grounds since the crossovers of the plant start just before Carlingview drive and they wouldn't build a station right on top of crossovers. Even Mimico which is the only station located entirely within a plant doesn't have any crossovers adjacent to the platforms.

This should answer your question

I searched for my own posts on Woodbine.........I found a couple of sets of posts in the GO Construction thread.

One here:

Which offered this render below:

And another here where the Site Plan for the station was being discussed:

Updated Woodbine GO renderings have been around for a while, that first piece of concept art with the impossible building has definitely not been the only image of the station until now:

Extending the Finch LRT to Woodbine GO is one of the city's transit priorities. That should make this station very accessible and a convenient option for folks in Rexdale headed downtown.

This is a very useful station for park-and-ride customers from Woodbridge and north Rexdale, more so than Etobicoke North. Even without Line 6, there are opportunities to connect with several TTC buses, along with YRT and even MiWay. Etobicoke North offers only a poor connection to the 45/945, and with only one platform and no reasonable expansion opportunity, its going to disappear, just like Lorne Park GO Station decades ago. With electrification though, I think a station at Islington and Resources Road could be added, with potential for new TTC bus connections there.

I have an office a block or so away, and with some interest wonder how useful this station could be - accepting the comments above and the improvements to be made. Now if you brought the Finch LRT line further south to this proposed station.......and could you also have a link to the airport via UP?
