Another mid-rise office building in the area with redevelopment plans. The transformation of Yonge & Eg continues.
 
Man! That's crazy, but nothing terribly surprising I suppose. I like the existing building and bits and pieces of street interaction, along with a statue which I'm certain is there. The office building there is what.....8-12 floors, pretty sizable to try and demo.
 
Not too much of a loss (hopefully the sculpture can find a new home somewhere else).

Now for the Canadian Tire across the street, crossing my fingers that it'll be kept.

Looks leaky to me, probably due for a reno anyway, made more sense to tear down and build better.

For comparison, directly beside it, Minto Quantam (the shorter one) is 37 storeys, 126m with penthouse.

If Tribute wants the building to look sleek like the renderings, then it'll be up to them to pay what it takes to accomplish that. If they're not prepared to pay, then it'll be their fault that G+C will have to deploy the mullions everywhere to frame smaller, cheaper panes of glass.

When you pile in on the architect and do not acknowledge the developer's part in determining the final architectural outcome, that is you own cheapness of spirit.

No disagreement that developers need to share in far more blame for aesthetic failures than they currently do.

To take a step back though, you don't hire G+C because you want something spectacular, you hire them because you want a building that stands up and makes you a lot of money. Why bother getting a shitty firm to try and do an excellent building? They have the reputation they do because of the service they offer.
