This thread will be used for discussion of High Tech Station: a proposed TTC station on the Yonge North Subway Extension, serving the area of High Tech Road, east of Yonge Street in the Richmond Hill Centre area.

Only a 45 minute walk to the Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory. Why not name it the "Observatory Station"? Or is that reserved for a 22nd century extension to Weldrick Road East?

Are you trying to get the observatory moved? The OSC precedent is that if you name a station for a landmark, that landmark must move before the line opens.

The observatory was placed where it is because it is close to the highest point in the area. But Doug Ford likely skipped his science classes so doesn't know much about that, so it could be moved as well.

Er...it's named after the street with the same unfortunate name that the line will terminate on. /sigh

My guess is that it'll almost certainly be called Richmond Hill Centre station in the end.
