I used to go to school with the guys daughter that owns the pickle barrel, they were known to be cheap and stingy lol, he lives in a multi million dollar Bridle Path home but cant put up a proper sign. smh hopefully its temporary. Its something I would expect from a flea market.

I agree it looks bad. But it also looks like, by design, they only left that little strip above the windows for signage. If that's the case, then it's a really restrictive situation for the proprietor.

The walkway is now open and la Vie en Rose is opening on the first floor (where Le Chateau and La Senza used to be)

That's certainly an improvement over the prior arrangement, but I'm still boggled at how the complex could have been originally designed with such awkward and incompatible floor spacing between the north and south side.

For what its worth this used to be an Eatons Department store so the original design might have had something to do with that.

To be honest I don't really understand the very negative reaction to the Pickle Barrel sign.. I mean, to me it seems no worse than the Silvercity sign or the Rexall sign. Or any other sign.

Yeah, I hate the dated typography, but that's their logo, so they're kinda stuck with it, and the sign itself doesn't seem particularly bad to me.

I find it incredible that they are removing the brutalist concrete shell and replacing it with glass, I guess that concrete shell is not structrual at all.
