A new entrance has just opened. It's off Greenfield Ave, east of Yonge and takes you into the north end of the food court steps from the tunnel to the Madison Centre.

This has the potential to be one of the better revitalization projects. Having seen the likes of the Simpson tower refresh and the Yonge and eglinton centre expansion, hopes of a successful renovation projects were at an all time low.

I had not been there for over a year when I was in the area in September. It seemed that the construction, hoarding, pedestrian access was still pretty limited.

It looks better now--thanks for the pics Drum.

To entice NYkDrne back to his old workplace stomping grounds,.... Prudys just opened today. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner solved! I gonna become diabetic,... and for diabetic medication,... Shoppers Drug Mart grand re-opening celebration is Friday.

Ray; I couldn't find Prudys shop but I got some dark chocolate at Purdys. Next to Purdys, a large skylight section was revealed and Shoppers Drug Mart pulled down the hoarding to fully open their newly renovated store with a larger beauty boutique. Their big free refreshments were cups of sparkling water, no coffee, no cookies. How generous.

The next floor of the "Pivot" building was poured today. Note how many conduits are placed in the floor to carry various electrical and internet cables. They won't be using high level concrete pumping as was done at Emerald Park, just crane hoisted large buckets. The loading dock exterior is complete.

Outside at north-east corner of Yonge & Sheppard, they installed new bollards on sidewalk - I don’t think they’re a response to the Van-Attack here last Spring - these bollards won’t stop a vehicle but they’ll slow them down. The bollards are installed directly in front of CIBC bank so it’s more likely to protect the ATM at ground level? Prior to renovation, SheppardCentre had concrete bollards at this corner protecting the CIBC bank which was on top of a flight of stairs above the old moat!

When I first saw these bollards, I thought they were smoker’s ashtray bin/poles!!! So many of them too!!!

The improvement to the corner on the ground level is the biggest win IMO. Getting rid of the moat and concrete walls and stairs fixes a terrible situation designed at a time when walking and accessibility were not at the top of designers' minds.
