Tim Horton's has become so sterile.

Can you elaborate on that?

This Tim's wasn't the most pleasant location before. It's definitely looking a lot better now; bright and clean. That being said, it could use more decoration to create more visual interest, particularly on the ceiling with the typical office ceiling tiles. Many of the newly renovated locations in small towns look a lot better, but I think it's because of the natural light coming in from all directions. These indoor locations don't enjoy that benefit.

Quadrangle has really done a good job here. The complex is almost unrecognizable compared to its pre-renovation state, and in a very good way. The interior is a little sterile, but all modern mall environments seem to be these days.

Longo's look ready for grand opening in 3 weeks on July 31 - just have to focus on stocking the shelves now,... especially loading up on those My Mo Mochi Bars! Stocking shelves with dry goods to right of photo,.... empty shelves/food stations are mainly for Longo's ready to made food items

Can you elaborate on that?

The design is pretty pretty cookie-cutter as fastfood places go. Perhaps it's simply just nostalgia but in the past there was a warmer feel to the locations, now they feel cold and uninviting as a whole.

July 16 Update

This renovation has come through nicely. It's a huge improvement over what's there now. What's missing now is updating the public realm on Yonge Street. It's deteriorated greatly over the last decade as the treed median has mostly been lost due to tree deaths. Hoping the city sees the light and funds the Yonge Street improvements.

Yea looking pretty good. Typically if you avoid using light grey, you are half way there.

Update on the "Pivot" building:
Balcony railings and glass are complete to the 7th floor, drywall is done to the 6th floor and concrete is being poured on the 25th floor. What looked like another sodded green area going in between the loading docks and the apartment bldg. is now filled with contrasting shrubs; a nice addition.
