Why are they tearing it down anyways? The frame seems like it's not inconsistent with what they'll end up with anyways.
Put a parking structure below it?

We were able to park at the new underground parking below Nordstrom's last week. Not sure when it opened. But the temporary connection from there to the mall is isn't very direct at all.

Feb 20:
By the looks of things, there will be no 4s Restoration Hardware building on the old Sear site.

From what I saw, a small extension has been built in front of the old Sears store with a new entrance to the mall as well new 2s stores on both sides of it.

Feb 20. 55 photos up on site

From the looks of things, no elevator was added for the new parking structure that has a P10 now. Until the ends are done, hard to say if there will be entrance on the various floors to the parking structure, but not one on P10.

The 2nd floor windows are project out from the building

They've alos demoed the old stairway/ elevator to the parking lot along the corridor from the TTC.

They have a temporary walkway over them and a diversion through the rogers store to avoid the stairs.

The walkway to Brandy-Melville only leads to that store; it is not an alternate route to the subway.

So is simons going to end up where the above ground parking is outside joeys? I'm happy for any extension but really wish for things like a goodlife, lucky lanes bowling and or grochery store. Plus I would be very happy if the holiday inn site would be redeveloped with a new hotel and condos. Good to see dream coming to completion.

Yea I really wonder if they'll attempt to turn Yorkdale more into a destination for things other than shopping; Bowling for example / more restaurants (already has a cinema). Actually really wonder if they're put up condos on the edge of the site; I think they'd sell very well, similar story with square one (but there's even more space available there).
