Dedicated to the good people of Toronto...
First some construction shots. Crane at Mosaic (west side of Spadina, just south of Bloor).
Big friggin' hole.
Townhouses behind The Loretto loft conversion on Brunswick, seen from Walmer (44 Walmer at right behind tree).
Seen from 44 Walmer parking lot.
They'll supposedly look like this.
Seen from Brunswick (44 Walmer in bg).
The Loretto.
Right next door.
Apparently this monstrosity is finally going to be fixed up, now that the former (crazy?) owner has died.
I've seen mysterious figures rummaging about inside a few times.
Faded glory...
This place is currently a burnt out shell - big fire recently. Re-opening soon.
Until then, Annex residents will have to make do with the other 857 cheap sushi joints along this strip.
New pub here soon: "The Brunswick Avenue Pump & Grill", run by the same people as The Banknote at King & Bathurst.
Used to be really good, but has gone downhill. I had a terrific ostrich dish here once.
Still really good. Try the angel hair pasta.
Anyone been here yet?
Bathurst.
Cool mural near Bathurst.
Chow central.
Madonna of the Annex
Colourful in Koreatown.
Good tamales, too.
WAR!!! Perhaps an initiative of a certain local librarian? One of the tall and fiendish persuasion? (I kid!)
More construction - new condos on the east side of Christie, just north of Bloor, overlooking Christie Pits Park.
Big-ass crane at this site.
Rink in Christie Pits.
Just after this photo was taken, that mob of kids started pointing at me and yelling, "Goddamn homo! **** off, pervert!", and the like.
This was a new experience for me. For what it's worth, I am neither a homo, nor a pervert (...I don't think).
Odd looking newfangled vee-hicle (a Chev).
I like Bloorcourt. Things get noticeably more funky starting here.
"Make my funk the T-Funk, I wants to get funked up..."
Trippy...
Perks fans.
Not so much...
Rock, rock, 'til ya drop
Rock, rock, never stop...
Tempted.
Frances McDormand puts in a cameo appearance.
I kinda like that people still use pay phones.
Never - never! - venture out into the desert without your furniture essentials.
Time for a trim?
People do still read - heartening.
Light begins to fade...
...as we gaze together into an uncertain future.
