Couldn't make it to the TTC meeting that was held on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 1:00 PM. It wasn't on the Community Channel on cable, nor was there a webcast on toronto.ca.

Probably a little early, but could they consider narrowcasting the TTC meetings on the ttc.ca website, so the rest of us mortals could see the action?

Very rare anything is shown of this meeting by cable/TV. I do know City had a number of crew throughout the meeting taping the whole thing. Even CTV had crews there from time to time.

It was the longest meeting in TTC history when it ended at 20:30

My highlights:
No more free parking since 4% of metropass holders use the car. A lot
of those holder work in office buildings close by and it is cheaper to
buy the pass than pay for parking.

By-law #1 is to be review and revamp as there are too many issues with
the current format. More later and watch Steve site.

Bombardier, Alstom and Siemens will enter talks with TTC for the new
LRT's. Not impress with their presentation. More so with Alstom who
show up with nothing and the person has only been with the company 6
months.

With TC on the table, artic's for TTC is all but dead. Based on the
comments from the GM, NFI is out of the ball game.

McNicoll bus garage is cancel due to TC and there will be no more built other than replacement.

Next bus signs info is heading toward the old system or like MT that
only has the bus stop number posted on a pole. Will require blackberry
and cell phone to get info.

Bio-diesel is dead.

120 more Hybrid buses to be order. TTC charge Orion $100 per day for
each late bus.
