I believe they left it in place and did a work around. That hill side was used for dumping way in the past as well. I also remember when they used to dump the cleared snow in the river. That was one of the snow dumps.
South span of the pedestrian bridge over Whitemud Drive has been lifted. Unfortunately it's hard to get a decent photo, but I think all the main structural elements for the overpass are in place now.
@Foolworm Messy site, but otherwise appears to be the Churchill Connector, which is a fancy name for a new access between the underground and future above ground stations.
Yep I think it's awesome too, but at the current moment it is quite out-of-place when you compare it to the aging and few new industrial buildings that it currently serves. I totally understand why they had to raise it with 75th ave and the CP tracks, and I envision some great TOD opportunities surrounding the station and a redevelopment of the area coming in the near future
