The Q3 (2024) update came out today.
28.6% completion. That's even slightly better than what my guess was when the summer report came out. I suspect that we are only going to see some minor increases in completion until the spring however. If we manage to make it 30-31% by the end of Q1 2025 I will be astonished.

I would point out that this only includes half of the major 2024 construction season. We won't know how successful construction was this summer until the Q3 report drops and it would not surprise me if there is a jump up into the 26-28% range. While there is only 2 weeks left in Q3 they are nearing completion (or have now completed) on a number of major elements such as elevated guide way installation, SPR bridge and AH bridge.
Just for interests sake progress for Q2 2023 report was 7.9% and Q3 report was 11.5% so similar trajectory would put Q3 2024 report for 2024 at 24.4%.
For comparison, the Q3 report I linked above says that they're at 28.6% completion now.

I figured that this summer would be a huge boon for construction. Q4 should get them to 30%, and Q1 2025 to around 32%. Construction seems to be picking up, and with a tripling of the workforce, it seems like they have good momentum
I still think Standard General's Yellowhead job taking a whole extra year kneecapped a lot of road/curb/sidewalk progress on the VLW this summer and that's a big key piece of them saying they plan to triple workforce for 2025. That was a big chunk of their workforce dedicated to grinding to get that finally wrapped up this year.

Maybe. But I think SG was already in full force for the VLW this year

I drove WB and then EB across the SPR Bridge over Groat Road this afternoon. It's good to see this road open again.
The MUPs across the bridge look bigger than before, but I think I'll need to wait until summer before I can walk or cycle across it.

I walked across the bridge today, and the paths are very wide. I am very pleased with the outcome.
