I always see these planning events that look interesting and would love to attend. With that said pricing for these is always out of control. What is a bigger slap in the face is the "student" pricing... expecting students to pay $300 for stuff like this. Pretty sad that they exclude much of the population expect for students with rich parent. Just take a look at this.

Delicious continental breakfast, hot buffet lunch and two coffee breaks to keep you energized!

Better be made by some upper crust chef or chefs. Worse is that 13% HST still has to be added on.

Industry events (not just planning) always have high prices, one purpose is to keep the annoying public out so its only affordable for companies to send their key employees etc. Students could get in if either if they're rich and $300 is peanuts or their school sends them.

That said, they do have to pay the speakers to speak, accommodation and feed them. It can get pretty expensive, even more so if it's a multi-day event...
