I do have to say that the websites promoting it need to be improved.

Many coworkers I shared it with are still unsure of what it is or what there is to do; better pictures too.

So late...

Social media staffer: "That crowd of whiners over at SkyriseCities is complaining about us again."

Tim Shipton: "Again? What is it this time?"

Staffer: "No skating in the Ice District this year. Remember we cut it because Mr. Katz said there was no money to be made."

Shipton: "Fine. Fine. I'll talk to facilities and we'll put it back for a month before it melts. Sigh. That should shut them up for a few weeks, at least until the renderings come out for Phase 2."

Took the LRT to Flying Canoe and it was PACKED. So great to see that many out and about, but very limited food/hot bev/mulled wine options...

One thing I wish they looked into though was to have little lanterns from Muttart LRT guiding you to the main trail as more than a few of us were unsure exactly how best to get there from the station.

This weekend is the Ice Climbing World Cup at ClimbYEG in Louise McKinney Park. Events and competitions run Friday through Sunday. The whole event is free so drop by anytime, I think we are getting better at it versus the first year. Best crowds will be Saturday evening for the finals along with the outdoor business expo. If you work downtown, drop by on Friday to see what it's like, lots of climbing during the qualifications (probably quieter from 11 am -12:30 during the transition from women's to men's). We are being considered for the 2030 Olympics (finding out in June).

When you say we're being considered for the 2030 Olympics, you mean the sport of ice climbing?
