Currently under construction by Grupo Los Pueblos, Ocean Reef Islands will soon become the first man-made residential islands in Latin America. Consisting of Islands 1 & 2, at 103,251 and 87,552 square metres respectively, the Ocean Reef Islands project will together form a luxury real estate development like nothing of its type ever conceived in Panama City.

Viewed in the renderings above and below, Ocean Reef Islands will centre around a common marina, the life aquatic to be the norm for residents whether at home, touring the bay, or commuting back and forth to Panama City.

Made completely of reclaimed land, the first of the two man-made islands has already been built and partially landscaped, the second island to come later. Interconnected by a single roadway, Islands 1 & 2 are connected to the main land via a raised 160-metre long bridge that will bring those choosing to commute by car to Panama City.

Already nearly sold out, Island 1's two-and-three-level Waterfront Residences and Garden Apartments have proved popular with buyers since the project's debut. For those looking to get in, there is still time to purchase a home on the soon to be built Island 2. Truly one of a kind, the completed project will bring a sense of whimsy to the ever-evolving skyline of Panama City.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
