When we last checked in at the build site nearly two years ago, Austin Proper Hotel and Residences by the The Kor Group had just broken ground. Fast-forward to today, and progress at the 32-storey, mixed-use hotel and residential high-rise, has been swift, the tower now topped off and partially clad.

Located upon the site of the former Thomas C. Green Water Treatment plant in downtown Austin, the new 500,000 square-foot high-rise development at 202 Nuces Street will soon be home to 99 condo units, 10 penthouse suites, and 244 hotel rooms.

While the hotel rooms will occupy floors three to eleven, the 12th floor will serve as a divider of sorts, the planned amenity level to include an outdoor heated pool and terrace (visible above), which will make use of the tower's first of two distinct setbacks.

Moving on up, the condo units will take up the middle portion of the tower, to be capped by the penthouses. McGuire Moorman Hospitality is onboard to provide culinary services in the form of two restaurants, a coffee shop, a sunken bar, and a takeout joint - thereby supplementing downtown Austin's already well-known food options.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
