Three months since our last update, and the Homewood Hilton at 1101 S Wabash has now reached structural completion. Located alongside Chicago's famous Grant Park, the 30-storey, 281-room hotel joins a collection of iconic hotels that line the city's tourist-packed downtown waterfront.

Designed by Lothan Van Hook DeStefano Architecture, the tower's two-toned, blue-tinted, glass curtain wall can now be seen from many different vantage points. Viewed up close, its vertical colour-blocking stripes can be best appreciated, the feature providing the otherwise nondescript tower with a touch of understated distinction.

Walking distance to Grant Park, the waterfront, and Museum Row, the well-situated hotel will likely be a very popular destination for visitors and business travellers alike. Close as well to transit and the financial district, the hotel will more than likely face solid bookings year round.

Once complete, the Homewood Hilton will be a welcome addition to the core, bringing more options for tourists to one of North America's most visited cities.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
