Wolf Point East has made some serious progress over the summer, the second phase of the three-tower Wolf Point project now standing about a dozen storeys tall. Located in River North just across the Chicago River from The Loop, Wolf Point East will eventually rise to 60 storeys, the 660-foot residential high-rise to soon be home to 698 units.

Above, Wolf Point East can be seen having risen at least a dozen storeys, the bottom three floors to host a mix of amenity and public space, the double-height ceilings making for an airy indoor retreat during the winter months. The grounds around the base of the three towers will be beautifully landscaped, featuring a mix of greenery, paths, and public seating.

Seen from ground level, the first few hints of glazing work serve as a preview of things to come. The bottom floors will serve as elegant, light-filled, indoor rooms, the floor to ceiling glass to provide visitors with sweeping views of the Chicago River and surrounding skyline.

While the Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects-designed, $360 million (USD) Wolf Point East still has some way to go, the tower is already beginning to become a part of the skyline. Once complete, the tower will bring upwards of 1000 new residents to River North, a welcome addition to Chicago's ever-growing downtown core.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
