Rising fast, and close to topping off, TwentyTwo has been making steady progress since our last update back in July. Located in the City of London, the 62-storey TwentyTwo has now surpassed its neighbour, the 52-storey Leadenhall Building, London's financial district quickly becoming a forest of angular steel and glass.

Composed as a subtly undulating, rectilinear form made of glass, TwentyTwo is comparatively less daring than its neighbours. This being said, the addition of two-tone glass panes, arranged in interchanging horizontal rows, has succeeded in adding some much-needed visual interest.

TwentyTwo was designed by PLP Architecture for AXA Investment Managers and Lipton Rogers, the 278-metre tower to become a distinctive piece of the London skyline. The tower will bring 200,000 square metres of top-tier office space to the core, intensifying density trend of the past decade.

TwentyTwo will likely top off in coming months, the project scheduled for completion by next year.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
