Rising fast in downtown Chicago, the 60-storey Wolf Point East by Hines and Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is on target to top off later this summer. Having made steady progress since our last update, the second-highest tower of the Wolf Point trio will eventually stand tall at 205 metres.
Situated along a prime stretch of the Chicago River in the heart of the city, the multi-phase Wolf Point development stands to redefine a significant chunk of the city's famous skyline. To this end, the 698-unit Wolf Point East tower is well on its way to completion, its glass edifice to reflect the majesty of the Chicago skyline back onto itself.
The tower trio will form something of a bulwark at the confluence of the north and south branches of the Chicago River, the planned, multi-storey podiums to be host to a mix of retail, dining, and other services. Supported by a massive landscaping overhaul, the base of the towers will be remade into an inviting public space, complete with plenty of room for people to enjoy lunch and coffee breaks in the great outdoors.
Once complete, the east tower will be followed up by the south tower, the last of the three Wolf Point high-rises to be the tallest at 290 metres.
SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
